Francesco Baccarani joined SGI Aviation in 2008 as Technical Manager of SGI Aviation Engines. He has over 20 years of airline and aviation experience, with an expertise in Commercial Aircraft Engines. He has knowledge on most engine type used on today’s commercial aviation aircrafts. Mr Baccarani was promoted Head of APAC in 2023 and he is now managing the SGI office in Singapore. Additionally, Francesco is providing support to Lessors during Aircraft Transactions, Pre Purchase Inspections and Mid Lease Inspection. At the same time, Francesco is working in the SGI Asset Management department and he is managing the engines of 45 aircrafts and multiple Engine spares that SGI has currently under asset management. Francesco also takes care of Engine Redeliveries, Engine Shop Visits management (from workscoping before engine induction up to invoice reviews and claim calculation) and Pre Purchase Inspections. Previously, Mr Baccarani held the position of Technical Manager Engine Services for IASG, a consultancy company based in London During this experience he specialized in the following Engine Models PW 4000 CFM 56 V 2500 CF 6 80 CF 34 8. In 2003, he was appointed Powerplant Engineer at Volare Airlines, the second largest airline in Italy where he managed Engine Troubleshooting and Engine Condition Monitoring. A graduate from Bologna University, Italy, Mr Baccarani also holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering He loves flying and in his spare time he enjoys his CPL licence.Sessions
