Christopher Rodrigues has been an aviation industry professional for over 25 years, with experience spanning aircraft and engine leasing, as well as management roles in international airlines and a turboprop OEM.
He is currently the Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing for SMBC Aero Engine Lease (SAEL); a global aircraft engine leasing company headquartered in Amsterdam. He’s been with SAEL since 2017 and leads their regional business strategy in South & Southeast Asia, Turkey and the CIS region, providing leasing and financing solutions to airline customers with a strong focus on next-generation engines like the LEAP, GTF, GEnx1B as well as current generation engines like the CFM56-7B/5B, IAEV2500 and GE90-115B.
Prior to SAEL, Chris worked with Singapore-based aircraft lessor, Transportation Partners, where he managed global sales, marketing and asset trading. His experience on the OEM side was with the Asia (Singapore) office of ATR, managing Southeast regional operators in a customer support role. He began his career in the aviation industry in 1998, as a licensed aircraft engineer with international airlines operating in India (British Airways, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines) and evolved to managing fleet operations, CAMO, and several technical roles. He has an MBA from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (Florida, USA). He is also an avid diver and underwater photographer.
