Ms Lee Hui Fung was appointed Vice President, Smart MRO for ST Engineering’s Aerospace sector in July 2010. As the head overseeing the company’s Smart MRO initiatives, she also leads the Continuous Improvement Office and Smart Analytics team. Together with the Chief Technology Office, which oversees Additive Manufacturing and Robotics/Automation, she focuses on Smart MRO initiatives to improve productivity and provide value-add to the customers.
Before her current appointment, Hui Fung was Vice President/Deputy General Manager (Operations) in a subsidiary called ST Engineering Aerospace Services Company Pte Ltd (SASCO). In her 15 years at SASCO, she went through various portfolios including Marketing, Programme and Operations. before she assumes her current role.
She was the Programme Manager for the MD11 Passenger-to-Freighter conversion programme, of which SASCO was awarded The Supplier of the Year 2004 by Boeing. And she was the Programme Manager for the launch of the 767 BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) programme in 2007.
Besides that, she was also heavily involved in A330-300 Passenger-to-Freighter second prototype and various cabin modification, winglet installation and WiFi implementation projects.
Hui Fung graduated with a Bachelor degree of Mechanical and Production Engineering (Honours) from the National University of Singapore in 1989. She was awarded Master of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 1993, specialising in Metal Matric Composites Characterization.
Upon completion of her Master Degree, she joined the Engineering & Development Centre of ST Engineering’s Aerospace sector as an engineer. She worked on Technology Development on polymeric matrix composites before becoming a Stress Lead for EC120 helicopter and Boeing 757 Passenger-to-Freighter programs.
