Aerospace is the most important industrial sector in Québec. It comprises four major prime contractors, fourteen tier one partners, equipment manufacturers and major maintenance-repair-overhaul (MRO) service providers, and 175 suppliers (SMEs), not to mention the contributions of schools and universities. With OEMs such as Bombardier, Bell Helicopter Textron, CAE, and Pratt & Whitney in the mix, Québec is truly a world-class aerospace hub.
One of the province’s strengths is its geographic location in the heart of the North American market—the biggest in the global aerospace sector. More than 70% of Canadian aerospace research and development (R&D) is carried out in Québec, while 80% of Québec’s aerospace production is exported worldwide.
