Rakesh currently serves as the Group Director – Fleet Technical Management and MCC at Cebu Pacific. His current role involves leading teams that cover various aspects of an airline Engineering organization including Maintenance Control Center, Technical Services, Engineering Planning and Powerplant engineering. The young and diverse team ensures all aspects of fleet management covering Safety, airworthiness compliance, Operations, Customer experience and Cost management. In his capacity, he also works very closely with the MRO subsidiary of Cebu Pacific in pioneering reliability, digital and efficiency initiatives at Aviation Partners Philippines (APlus).
Prior to this role, he was part of the Air India Transformation team, when it was taken over by the TATA group. As Vice President – Engineering Services, he played a key role in the initial setup of modern processes as well as the integration of the various group airlines. He joined Air India, after 14 years at Qatar Airways, in various engineering management roles and played key roles during the growth phase of Qatar Airways, leading key aspects of the entry into service of new generation airplanes like B787, A380 and A350.
He holds an Engineering Degree in Electronics and several accreditations from renowned institutions like Indian School of Business and IATA.
Rakesh is an avid reader and very passionate about digital initiatives in aviation engineering and maintenance. He is also a keen observer of latest industry innovation and trends, with particular interest in the eVTOL and AAM space.
