Joining Japan Airlines (JAL) in 2002, I began my career as an aircraft maintenance engineer, gaining hands-on experience in ensuring the safety and reliability of the fleet. From 2008 to 2013, I transitioned to the technical department, where I served as a project manager for cabin seating and in-flight entertainment (IFE) development projects. This role allowed me to oversee significant advancements in passenger comfort and onboard technology.
Following my tenure in the technical department, I moved to the procurement division, where I was responsible for negotiating aircraft purchase and sale agreements. Notably, I played a key role in JAL's historic acquisition of its first Airbus aircraft, the A350, and managed the sale of over 50 aircraft, optimizing the airline's fleet composition and financial performance.
In 2017, I shifted to the IT department, where I contributed to transforming maintenance operations through the implementation of mobile applications. This initiative included the pioneering introduction of electronic flight logs in Japan, significantly enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of maintenance documentation.
Subsequently, I took on the role of maintenance management at Japan Air Commuter (JAC), overseeing the operations of ATR aircraft. My experience in this position further solidified my expertise in aircraft maintenance and operational management.
Since 2022, I have been involved in the strategic planning and execution of mid- to long-term business strategies for JAL's maintenance division. My diverse background in technical, procurement, IT, and strategic roles has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the aviation industry, enabling me to contribute effectively to the ongoing success and innovation at Japan Airlines.
